Seagulls glide and squawk in the wind as Rony climbs from the Gulf of Finland with his dear hobby horse flash unicorn named Snowball. This has pretty much nothing to do with the fact that Rony started DJ'ng as Rony Rex a decade ago. Since then, Rony has established himself as one of Finland's top dance music tastemakers with his eccentric performances, off-the-wall releases and collaborations with artists like Carla Monroe, girli, GFOTY, Madge, TT The Artist and Dances With White Girls. He’s also known for his sweaty club events, and a very own radio show currently airing on the Finnish BBC R1 equivalent YLEX.

Rony’s music is a bubbly, quirky and housey mix of influences coming together as something that is heavily club culture focused, but doesn’t sway away from flirting with pop and indie soundscapes. There must be something to it as Rony’s tunes have been picked up by brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney, O2 and many others on the regular. You might have also heard his tunes played out by artists like Diplo, Dillon Francis, Anna Lunoe and a plethora of other places like the BBC, Triple J, and various SiriusXM shows.

Celebrating the first 10 years of his career in 2023, Rony released his debut mixtape album featuring some of his best-known, hidden gems, personal favorites, and of course brand new tunes. Topping off the celebration year and warming us up for another decade of adventures, Rony has a new EP forthcoming on Needwant Records. The first single, “Ugly”, a collaboration with LA-based poet and artist Benni Ola is out now.
